SUMMARY AND FORWAST. By Telegraph.—Press -Association. Wellington, Last Nigtot. The following is Sir. Bates' weather summary for the past 24 hours:— The barometer is still low to the southward, and strong westerly winds here prevailed. Cold and showery conditions hare been experienced in all the western districts, and in the southern portioa of the South Island, but in the Bast Otast districts fair weather has raled. 'Forecast—Present indications are for a rieiag barometer and high south-west-erly iriadt everywhere shortly. Gold and squally weather is probable generally, with heavy showers in most parts of tile country, and sleet and hail in the Math aad gnow in the high country.
