Sir,—ln your report of the Taranaki .County Council meeting of July IMb, 1 am 'reported to have said: "We should!mve f,'Oiie for the whole district," thus leading your readers to infer that I had altered ray views on that matter, which is not the tsisft I did ask the chairman yareiistieaHy, "why lie did not go in for the whole district?" I have interviewed the chairman to-day, and Me agrees with me, word for word, aa to ille words I used. I may say that the merger is not done with yet.—l am, etc., MARK IKIPSOif. Injrlewooil, July 20.
