FIRES.
HAIRDRESSER'S SHOP DESTROYED. By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A tire gutted a tobacconist and hairdresser's shop and six dwelling • rooms on Ponsonby road at 8 o'clock to-night, occupied by George L. Huiller, who resided on the premises with his wife. Both went out ten minutes before the oubreak, leaving all apparently safe. The city and Grey Lynn brigades sup.pressod the flames in half-an-liour, but only the piano was saved. The furniture and stock were insured for £l3O. The loss is estimated at .t'so in excess of that amount. Insurances on the building were, uuascertainable.
