The following is Sir. D. C. Bates' weather sammary for the past 24 hours:— Cold and showery weather has prevailed, with snow on the higher levels in the •oath. The barometer hag risen ."lightly everywhere, with strong south to ■oath-easterly winds.
Forecast.—Present indications are tor A continuance of unsettled weather, gloomy, very cold and showery conditions, snow on the higher levels in tin aouth, with strong south to south-east-«cly winds. The barometer is unsteady in the south, but will rise everywhere ■oon. Expect heavy seas on all the western coast, and southward of Castlepoint.
