Bates' weather'summary for the past 24 hours:— Strong west to south-west winds have prevailed, with unsettled • ana showery weather, especially on the we.it coast and northern and southernmost district*, and changeable conditions on the East Coast. The barometer has risen in the south during the past 36 hours. Forecast:—Present indications are for strong southerly winds, cold changeable and showery weather, with barometer rising everywhere.
