CASTAWAYS RESCUED.
MAROONED FOR FIVE MONTHS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 12, 5.5 p.m. New York, July 11. The steamer City of Sydney arrived at San Francisco. She hail rescued the captain, eight of the crew, and two babies'(children of the captain), of tne wrecked schooner Mokonies. They were marooned for five months on ClepP"iten Island, off the Mexican coast. The ji:irty anticipated being rescued by the gunboat Tampico, but the Constitutioiia!i«t-> captured and sank hex. There was a small Mexican colony on the ivand. Food ran low, and tluc of the (iew started for the mainland, arriving after seventeen days' great suffering owing to shortness of food and water. The cruiser Cleveland rescued the party, and transferred t!i< m to tlnv Cit.v of Sydney.
