MUSICAL.
To the Editor, Sir,—Being a great lover of good music, and while passing H. Collier's warehouse a few nights ago, I was very much surprised to hear a deep, rich, and exceptionally melodious voice, ringing out from within, and being further curious to see who was the possessor oi such a beautiful voice,-I was more taken aback to find the singer was a native gentleman. His rendering of one of Korbay's masterpieces was perfect. The interpretation and phrasing were correctly given. J/havc heard the same piece rendered by several notable vocalists at different times, such as Messrs Hamilton Hodges (Wellington) D, Bisphan (Sydney), and Kennerlcy Rumford, However, on making enquiries about this fortunate gentleman, I find that ho is the Prince Hula Rahana, of Tahiti, only son of the native ruler of that island. Should the gentleman ever visit our part of the country, I shall be very pleased to met him, and assure him welcome at any time. I am, etc., J. W. De LAUNEY, Kaianoi, Christchurch. 10th July, 1014.
