CIRCUIT QUARTERLY MKKTINU The quarterly meeting of the New Plymouth circuit of the Methodist Church was i eld on Wednesday evening at the Wliiteley .schoolroom, Revs. A. I!. Cleappell, M.A., mid C. ||. Olds, D.A.. and twenty officials were -present. Rev. A. I! Claippcll presided The circuit stewards (Messrs C. Carter and R. Pepperell) oll'ically welcomed the new ministers to the circuit. The financial statement, in view of the heavy expense* of the pa-l qiimrtcr, was very satisfactory. 'Hie membership of the circuit yvas repurled at -t:iß. with a proportionate number of junior members. A most encouraging -report on .Sunday .School work was'received., showing the atctndanee of some li-KI children in the town school j. The cbairnii.n reported that Mr C. Bottrill, M.A., had undertaken the s-u;ici'inten«tcncy t,f tile S-undnv School of the South j\uad. A cordial vote of thanks >.va, accorded to Mi's Mclvsaacs for her valued services- as acting supiyinteiiden! duriiiothe vacancy. . Arrangements were made for llnie Mission services and collections throughout the circuit during the cu-n.'ing quarter. It was resolved to make immediate application to the Home Mission Executive for tin; appointment of a Home Missionary to the Circuit. In connection with the lisit of Sister Grace Crump, Fupeainlendenl of the Training Institution for deaconesses, (Cliristchurcn 1 it was decided to cull a congregational meeling for Monday next and there to discuss the question of the re-employment of a dca-oncss.
