Fine crossbreds were from 5 to 7% per cent, higher than the April closing rates; medium, par to five per cent, higher; poorer sorts at par; medium, lower. Americans were operating freely for One and medium crossbreds, and it is expected that merinos will show five per cent advance. Wheat.—Market is steady and quiot. Visible supply is 31,285,000 quarters. Copper £O2 6s 3d to £62 12s 6d. Electrolytic—£o4 ss. Lead.— £l9 0s 3d. . t WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday our pens were taxed with birds of all classes. Prices obtained were in advance of the previous week: Hens, young, Is Cd to 2s 6d; fat, 2s to 2s fid; wckeiels, young, Is 8d to 2s 3d; fat, Is lid to 2s 10s; pullets, forward and laying, 2s tid to 3s 9d; ducks, 2s to 2s 6d; drakes, 2s Cd; turkey Ihens, 4s to 5s fid; gobblers, 6s to 7s 6J. The usual line of auction sundries and shelter shrubs sold at satisfactory prices. Fruit.—During the week a large shipment of Island oranges and bananas has arrived and sold at satisfactory rates. Prices as under according to quality of fruit and size of cases: Oranges, originals, 7s <Jd to 8s Od; repacks, 10s fid to lis Od; bananas, given, 9s Gd to 10s (id; ripe, 2'/4d lb; apples, dessert, 8s fid to 10s Gd; cookers, fis Cd to 7s; pears, dessert, Ss to lis Od; cookers. 5s to Os Od: lemons, lis 6d.
