They are not the whole of Hit; tourimr party. The rest are going direct from Sydney to Auckland. Mr. J. If. Houghton, manager of the team, and the players, were met on the wharf by Messrs J. Carlaw and D. W. McLean, picsident and chairman respectively, of the New Zealand League Council, and Mr. -T. Price, wretary of the Wellington League. Mr. Houghton said that the members of the team had so far thoroughly enjoyed themselves. and bad been .lucky in having a very pleasant and smooth crossing from Sydney. He would not commit himself to anything phophptic about the New Zealand tour. ''We kid bad luck in being beaten in the first match," he said, "but we were beaten right enough.
