The dead duellists we.ro Hubbard Miniard (17), and Henderson llensley (18), both member of prominent eountv families. They had hol.li been lifelong friends. Mrs Adams did not, believe, she says, that their rivalry war of. a fijfhtinjf nature. So she invite;! both: to spend the afternoon with her and several girl friend*. 'When young Milliard saw Mrs. Adams in whimpered elinff with his rival, the jealousy which had been Miionhlering in his breast for weeks bro'ko forth. He uttered a violent oath, ajid challenged Hen-ley to a duel. Both the youtlis, chivalrous 1 youns poutbe-rners, quieklv "trow theiv revolvers and fired. Mrs. Adams ran between them. She sank to the floor, while the lads continued theiv desperate efforts, to kill each other. ■ Finally vonnEj 'Milliard fell, pierced hv four bullets. Then, in a minute or two, ITenslev fell, also moria'ly wounded. Mrs". Adams was assisted to bed, ami is reported as- on her way to recovery.
