THEIR RELATION TO THE STATE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The annual conference of the Plunket Society was continued in the Town Hall to-day, Mrs. Algar Williams presiding. Dr. Yalintine (Chief Health Officer) was among those present. Oil the discussion of the relationship of the Society to the State, which was taken in committee, Dr. Trilby King spoke at considerable length. Later, Dr. Yalintine gave the 'Society an assurance that the position as between the Society and the Department should remain unalterable until the next annual •lonferonce. He also stated tlhat in future the Health Department would communicate only with the Plunket Society centres, not with its branches. The following remit from Wanganui was agreed to, on the motion of Miss Campbell:—"Nurses must pay their own training fee at Karitanc-llarris Hospital. and if they hold their position for two years, the training fee will he refunded to them at the end of that time."
