Allen Soffe, of Tikorangi. was charged with failing to cleaii bis farm of blackberry. He pleaded not guiltv. saving he had been ill, and had been unable to get labor, but clearing had nowb-en done. Inspector Pattie, of the Agricultural Department, in evidence, said he had visited the property up tc May, and nothing 'had then been done. The representative of the Department present asked for substantial penalty, and Ms Worship, considering tlic offence proved, inflicted a. fine of £2 with cu<N 12s.—Mail.
