He took her in a rowing boat and charged her with being frien.lly with another man. She admitted it. and he strangled her and ripped up the body in order that it might sink. Robbins had been drinking, but seemed sensible. He bad previously been wandering in Whitechapel. Received 7, 7.35 p.m.

Londonfi, July 7. Robbins, mentioned in this morning's cables, surrendered to the police. He stated that he strangled Stevenson at Port Melbourne seven years ago, but the Melbourne police have no record of the crime, iind doubt the storv.
