NEW PLYMOUTH SOCIAL ITEMS.
Mrs. Quilliam, who lias keen visiting her daughter, Mrs. Leo. Honoeks, Fielding, is hack again in New Plymouth.
Mrs. Gordon Fraser returns bv the mail train to-night, after a pleasant stay with her parents in Dunedin.
Mrs. Paul is at present in Wellington.
Miss Midge Glasgow (Wanganui) who has been visiting Mrs. Hew ley, is now the guest of Mrs. Claude Weston. _ Mrs. McKellar returned on Thursday last from a visit to Wellington, where she was the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Abraham.
Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, who have been the guests of Mrs.. E. Hlundell, left for Auckland last Tuesday. Miss Shaw, of the Technical School teaching stall', has gone to Opunakc for a month, as relieving teacher at the school.
Mrs. R. A. Gray left this morning for Wanganui, where she will be the guest of Mrs. W. Kerr. Miss Maud Dowling, who has been on the nursing staff of the Dunedin Hospital, has returned to New Plymouth on account of ill-health.
; Miss Carrie Bayly has returned to '{ New Plymouth after a lengthy stay in ? Nelson and Dunedin. ! Mrs E. Walker will act as .hosiers to a musical evening to-night at her residence, the guests of the evening being Miss Glasgow (Wanganui) and Miss D. Cole (Auckland).
Colonel and Mrs Xieholls (Wellington) are on a visit to New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. G. Bullock, who have been touring the North Island, paid a short visit,to New i'lvmouth, where they iverc the quests, of Mr. and Mrs. Winfield, Erarikley Road, before their return home to Wanganui.
Mrs. Chancy entertained a number of frionds ati.!nid«i' on Thursday evening, Whicli resulted in Mrs. Heard being presented .with the first prize and Miss Barry ' (Auckland) second. Amongst thoes present were: Mesdames Bradbury, H. Russell, G. Kebbell, Heard, Hill, Collins, R. George, Harvey, Crawford, Rtocker, Medley, MaeDiarmid, Hirst, Elliott and Misses Bamerton, Douglas, t>!il'.v, llruwn. Barry.
Mrs. I'itiaoke, who bus liech the gu.st of Mrs. c::i:idc Wcstoh, has returned to Stn-tford. Miss .VaSeiilni.- of Gisborne, who has been on a visit to her sister (Mrs. F. Tribe) returns next week. Last Thursday, in St. Mary's Hall, a most enjoyable juvenile concert was given bv a nunil'i r < f the Sund-.iv School Hchohirs. and (n amount of its un<]ualified success ;\ similar one- will be given in a few weeks' time. The credit of this performance was ituiinly due to Rev. F. A. Crawshaw and Miss Beryl Hirst. Miss Grant, of Christchurcli. is on a visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. .1. E. Wilson (Mayoress) is on a visit to Auckland.
Mrs! 'Newton King and Miss I'.rt'y King' left for Auckland last Thnr.-day, en route for England.
Mrs. AddWlbrooke gave a most enjovuble bridge .party last Wednesday, which resulted in Beit. Grillitlis winning first .prias ..; Miss James, who has been the guest of Mrs. E. F. Fookes. has returned to Stratford.
