ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
DIED AT DINNEjR. By Telegraph—Press Association. Pahiatua, Last Night. 11. W. Williams, an elderly widower, who followed Hie occupation of hookkeeper, iiidj., Jy collapsed while partaking of his dinner at the Trocadero to-day, and expired in a. few minutes. The deceased had been under treatment a.s a resuh of injuries sustained in being knocked -down by a trap. Heart faiiure is belieied to'be the cause i.f death.
A QUARRY TRAGEDY. ChristchuToh, Last Nij>ht. A lad whilst engaged in shepherding on the hilltops above Rapaki Pah, near Lyttelton, this afternoon, discovered the body of a man suspended by about four feet of rope from the root of a tree overhanging a disused quarry. The man appeared to be about- middle-aged and was dressed in a brown fiiit. He appeared to lave climbed the quarry, tied the rope to the tree, and jumped over. The body has not yet been identified.
UNEXPLAINED SUICIDE. Taihape, Last Night. A man named Wro. Mitchell, 33'veivrs old, a married resident of Taoroa.'committed suicide with a razor early this morning. At the inquest a verdict of suicide whilst temporarily insane was returned, no Ten son being assigned.
