The demands of the Marlborough Farm and Station Employees' Union were formally planed before the Conciliation Connc-il at Blenheim this morning. Mr. Laracy was present as agent for the workers. On behalf of the employers Mr. Vavasour made the following statement:—

"We are not prepared to discuss the demands of the I'nion at all. The Arbitration Court has already dealt with I the question of farm labor in Canterbury, ami declined to make an award. It also j in other awards exempted farmers and employees from the operation of the awards. The Court therefore having established a precedent, we refuse to discuss the matter at all. and it must lie referred direct to the Court."
