ATTEMPT TO DERAIL A TRAIN.
FENCING POSTS ON TUB LIN'S. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, .Tune 30. At attempt wate made 011 Saturday night to derail an evening train -near Bunnythorpe. Some fencing rails were removed from. a paddock near by and ])laced across the rails at the northern end of the bridge over "Jack's Creek." Fortunately the pT.aniks were not very substantial, otherwise there might easily have been, serious results. It was first thought that it was the work of children, hut ion examination of the locality the prints of a man's boots of about isizo i) were found. Nothing of the occurrence was known till yesterday morning, when the broken planks wore found alongside the line, one plank being found about two chains away.
