RESOLUTIONS FROM THE TRADE. Per Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. At n. meeting of the aniejnlbeis of the licensed Victuallers' Association of Otago and Southland to-day, the provisions of the Licensing Amendment Bill were discussed, and reference made to flic attitude of other association* throughout th; country against tih'u reduction of the three-fifths majority necessary to carry national prohibition. The following motions were carried:—
That no deduction from the 60 per cent for loc.il or national prohibition should be entertained by Parliament, without first showing what new form of taxation sJiafll be imposed on the people to -make up the Iras of fOOO.OOO of Government revenue.
That the Prohibition iparty is not justified in asking for a Dare majority, as tile votes of those for national prohibition at kit election only totalled 44 ptr cent of Hie electors on the roll, and I hat this minority should not be able to control 56 per cent of the olectoirs ns woll as many thmilsands who are not on the roSl.
