LAST NIGHT'S FORECAST. Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is Mr. Bates' weather summary for the past 24 hours: — • Anti-cyclonic conditions have prevailed, with fair to cloudy weather and cold and frosty nights. Forecast.—Present indications are for the development of a westerly storm area southward of New Zealand, and probably affecting the country southward of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, variable breezes in the north, giving way to freshening northerlies and increasing/strong to gale in and southward oi Cook Strait; weather generally milder, with increasing cloudiness and rain <following in the south; barometer filling everywhere.
