DOMINIONS COMMISSION TAKES ACTION.

The Dominions Commission, understanding that the British Government had refused to lay down an Atlantic cable, approached the Western Union. The latter offered to lease the lino from England to Montreal, where It will join tlie Pacific Co.'s land line. Tlie company is willing to consider giving the. use of another of their lines in the event of a breakdown.
It is understood that;the Dominions Commission, after consulting the Canadian Government next month, intends to recommend the acceptance of the Wester" Union's offer.
