DAKIN<? SCHEME OF DEPORTATION. , FAILS TO FIND ACCEPTANCE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Ottawa, June 2<i.

The Premier, Mr. Borden, gives an absolute denial to the story that the Hindus are to be allowed to land, stating -that the provisions of the law with regard to Hindus will be strictly enforced. ; Late last evening Mr.. H. H. Stevens sent a proposal, to which he had apparently agreed himself, for the Immigration Inspector to ship the entire party away by an Empress liner, which -will leave Vancouver to-day. The proposition is virtually to shanghai the •Hindus aboard the Komagata Maru on •to* the Empress of India. Apparently the, plan waß well arranged l>y Messrs. .Stevens and Reid, for the telegrams suggested that they would attend to the ] details if the Government would authorise an expenditure df 18,000 dollars and ithe necessary tickets for the party on ■board the Empress.. It is understood that it was planned >tfcat the C.P.R. liner should leave the * wharf at the usual time of departure :and draw alongside the Komogata Maru. . ■ Mr. Borden and the officials of the department have considered the proposition, but no official intimation of instructions have been sent to Vancouver ias announced. It has beep learned that Mr. Stevens' [plan has not been adopted, and the Gov*emnent will net seek to detail the Empress for the task. TESTING THE LEGAL POSITION. •SIiUF ' Vancouver, June 26.
