MASONIC.

DE BURGH ADAMS IjODGE, At the annual installation of the De Burgh Adama Lodge on Thursday evening a large end representative gathering of the various constitutions assembled.

Right Wor. Bro. J. Ellis was installed as Worshipful Master for the ensuing year; Eight Wor. Bro. W. F. Brooking acting as installing master and eonducting the ceremony, Wor. Bro. W. H. Beadle acting as director of ceremonies. The Hodge propose* celebrating it 9 jubilee aext February, it having been formed in February, 1805, and Wor, Bro, J. Ellis was one of the members who assisted in it!s opening and dedication. This circumstance added greatly, to the interest 'bf the occasion. Bro. Captain F. Mace, N.Z.C., who was> also present at the opening of t!li« lodge in 1865, was among those present at the installation of Wor. Bro. Ellis.' Bro, A. Standish and Right Wor. Bro. G'Callaghan are the only other survivors so far as U known. The address to' the master was delivered 'by the Eight Wor. Bro. A. Goldwater, to the wardens- by Wor. Bro. J. W, Hayden, and to the brethren by Very Wor. Bio. A. L. Hammond. The officers were installed as follows*: I. Past Master, Wor. Bro. J. W. Hayden; senior warden, Bro. H, Soutilmm; junior warden, Bro. J. Toms; treasurer, Right Wor. Bro. J. Ellis; secretary, Very Wor. Bro. E. Whittle; chaplain, Right Wor. Bro. W. F, Brooking; director of ceremonies, Wor. Bro. W. H. Beadle; organist, Bro. W. Hofikin; senior d ucon, Bro. W. W. Thompson; junior deacon, Bro. B. M. Smith; inner guard, Bro, C. D. Grant; senior steward, Bro. E. J. Sole; junior steward, Bro. J. Lepine; tyler', Wor. Bro. J. Asher.

Subsequently the brethren adjourned Co the Brougfem StTeet Hall, where the usual banquot was held and a toast list lionored.
