London, June 25. Under the amending Bill Londonderry and Belfast are treated as separate counties in voting for exclusion. Nowry is included in County Down.

The second reading is fixed for July 1. The Unionist leaders of the House of Lords conferred with Mr. Bonar Law. It is expected that the Unionists will indicate during the second reading debate the amendments they propose to make at the committee stage. A section would prefer to reject the amending Bill, but the Government will defer the second reading of the Home Rule Bill until the amending Bill is disposed of. Messrs Redmond, Dillon and O'Connor, M.P.'s, interviewed the Premier privately at the House of Commons.

If strife 1)e now averted it can only be upon the initiative of tlie Opposition peers, who must take upon themselves the duty which the Government have not the courage to perform. In the House of Commons, Mr Asquith, questioned as to whether the Irish Parliament would be able to apply Britain's subvention of half a million towards the expenses of the volunteers, replied in the negative. Nationalists in London are organising a committee to assist- in equipping the Irish volunteers.
