A NAVY AIR DIVISION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, June 84. The Admiralty is creating a distinct aviation "branch of the Navy, open to civilians. The age of candidates is restricted to from 18 years to 39. Candidates are required to sign an engagement to serve for four years, followed by four years in the reserve. The pay is slightly higher than in the submarine service.

The naval air wing uniform resembles that of the Navy, except for the distinctive emblem being an eagle in place of an anchor. It is intended to utilise the coastguard service wherever practicable.

A STABLE HYDROPLANE. Paris, June 24.

M. Quinton, president of the National Aerial League, states that the trial of the new automatically stable hydroplane proved a complete success. The pilot raised his arms and a passenger walked on the wings when it was travelling at sixty miles an hour.
