THE OLYMPIC GAMES.
NEW DEFINITIONS. Times and Sydney Sim Services. Received 24, 0 p.m. London, June 24. The Olympic Congress has concluded. It decided that flat hurdle racing, the Marathon cross-country,, jumping, cycling, lawn tennis, putting weights and dumbells are to be allowed under the heading of "athlteic sports"; football, fencing, boxing, wrestling, shooting and gymnastics under the heading of "sports de combat"; and rowing, sailing and swimming under "nautical sports." Riding has been included in the Pentathlon, which was held to mean fencing with swords, swimming, cross-country running, and racing. During the progress of the games, the committees are to be allowed to organise prolf, ski-ing, skating and polo contests, but the results will not count.
