The Xew Plymouth Operatic Society lias been busy rehearsing the prelimiaary work of the charming comic ope ML "San Toy," for the last month, and tht members are now getting down to the ■ solid iwork. Mir Renaud, the conductor, has got the. chorus going splendidly,, thunks to the members, old And new, ol which there arc a large number. The •; Society has been particularly fortunate' in securing the services of Captain Stevens as stage manager, vice Mr. R. HillJohnson, resigned, and Mr. Alf. Gray arf assistant. With two sucli experienced ' coaches, the Society's production of "San' ' Toy" will bo equal to, if not better than, anything yet produced, The cut, '» which has not yet been made, is to be proceeded with at onci. _ \
