SHIPPING STRIKES AT HOME

OWNERS STAND FIRM.

Times and Sydney Sun Services.

Received 19, 5.60 p.m. London, June 19. The dislocation of shipping trade owing to the strike of engineers is beginning to be felt at many British ports. The great ocean liners are not affected, but the carrying trade will be •erioußly interfered with if no agree'ment is reached with the strike committee. The engineers are refusing to sign articles all over the Kingdom, and vessels are delayed at the ports. Owners are determined not to concede higher rates, because the freights forbid it.
