Mr. T. Mackenzie visited the new docks at Hull, and referred to the increasing trade with New Zealand, also to propriety of Germany making some tariff concessions to New Zealand as America had done.

Mr. T. Mackenzie, High Commissioner, in a speech at the opening of the preliminary section of the new dock, stated that direct shipments from New Zealand involved a reduction in freight rates and less risk of the deterioration of cargoes.
