. A THAMES DEPUTATION.'>. yk By Tele,").iph—Press Association. Thames, Last Night. Hon. Fisher, Minister of Marine, iu waited on by a deputation of local fishermen, who protested against the rumored introduction of trawling in the golf. The Minister replied that the Government had no intention of introducing trawling. Professor Prince, the Canadian expert, would report on the fish- i£ eries of the Thames. ' ■'*

The Minister's attention was drawn to the confiscation of boats for breaches of the Act. The Minister said that the confiscation had been stopped. 'lt was adopted as a deterrent, and to protect the Department and industry. The deputation mentioned 'the need for securing a ■ market for Thameseaught flounders. The high railway . freights militated against the trade in outside centres. Seduction and Government assistance in the distribution and - municipal markets were advocated. The Minister considered that fishermen's ad- < vances should be made in the same way ' as advances to settlers.
