Saturday, the 6th. June, saw t'he end o; the first round, for the Kasper Cud. llnliotu being in t'he lead with 3 games, 3 _ wins. Pihama next with S' fames, 2 wins, 1 lo>e, then Parih'wka with 3 games. 1 win, 2 losses, nnd Punilio with 3 games, 0 wins and 3 losses.
■Rahotu met and defeated. Punilio bv 24 point's to 5. For the winner!* tries were scored by Baker Kasper, Snirgenor, Glentwortli, and Rangi. Kurgenor converted one and potted a goal from tlhe field and H. Martin landed a penalty goal. Mr Hayes refereed satisfactorilv. At Pihaina the locals defeated l Parihaka iby 11 points to nil. Opoia and Thompson were the try-getters, and Rahui converted 'one try.' Mr. Pue had charge of the whistle." Punilio journeyed to, Parihatei and sprang a surprise on the stronghold team In- winning by S points to 5, after a very exciting "go." Charlie and Ruku scored one try each for Pimiho, whilst Adlam converted one. C. Warn scored and converted his own try for Paribaka. Mr Andrews controlled the game.
At Pihaina the Rahotu teaw's colors were lowered to the tune of 7 points to 4. Though Pahbtu had) beaten Pihama before by 8 points', Pihama supporters were confident of a good match. Tto--I'otu's hacks were weak and patchy and did not seem to. work together well. While the forwards more than held their own in tue tight, but were beaten in the loose. Thompson (3).' Murray and Kopa (1 each) scored for Piliiima,' whi'e Thompson converted a try. For the liners Surgenor .potted a goal from the lie-Id. Mr Pue had charge of tihe whistle.
