N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE GO'S REPORT.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. (Stratford branch) report as follows: — On Friday, June 5, we held our usual monthly sale at our To Wera yards, when we yarded 100 head of cattle and 1551 sheep, most of which were sold at the hammer or afterwards at satisfactory prices: 2'/ 2 to 3-year steeds, 90s (Id to 101s; 20 months to 2 year steers, Gas to 90s; dairy heifers, 102s Cd; store cows, 70s;.owe lambs, 14s 9d to 15s; fat and forward wethers, 225; f.m. ewes, 3, 4, and G-tooth, 19s Id; eull lambs, 10s; empty ewes, 12s Gd to 15s. On Thursday, lltn inst., we held a clearing sale on account of Mr Chas. Thompson, Pembroke road, Stratford, whose lease has expired ana who is giving up dairying. There was a very large attendance from all parts of the district, about 125 people being present, The cows were in creditable condition, considering that Mr Thompson has no turnips or hay for them, and that the 77 acres was very heavily stocked, carrying 24 dairy cows, 10 heifers, bull, and several horses. Competition was keen from the start, and the sale was a very satisfactory one. The usual sundries wicrc disposed of first at the following prices— Aged boar 10s; fowls, Is 7d; sow and litter of seven pigs, £5 ss; horses: aged mare bought in at £2O; 18 months filly bought in at £lO. The stock was well distributed over the district, no fewer than ten buyers operating. Four or live of the cows showed age, one was a three teater, two were in milk. Prices, £ls 15s, £l2, £ll ss. £ll, £lO 15s, £lO 10s, £9 15s to £9 for early calvers; for later calving cows, 160s to 150s; 3teater 1255; heifers, 105s; store cows, 90s. The cows averaged £lO 3s 3d; bull £4 ss; very nice lot of selected Holstein Jersey weaners fell to the bid of a Tariki client at 40s.
Since we last reported, we have put through a fair amount of business privately. Lambs, lis 6d to l'3s 6d; f.m. ewes, 14s 6d up to 21s; empty ewes, 17s 6d; wethers, 15s to 245; weaner heifers, 29s 6d; weaner steers, 37s fid to 465; 2'/ 2 to 3 year steers, 105s to 1255.

On Friday, sbh. inst., at my Waiwakaibo yards, I had a full yarding of all classes of cattle, the quality right through (with the exception of weaner steers) being an improvement on previous yardings. The attendance was very good and bidding brisk. Some choice linos of Jersey weaner heifers were yarded, these meeting an excellent i sale. The dairy cows offered on 'account of Mr. G. Mitchell, of Mangorei, were a fine lot, and. sold very readily at prices from £7 to £ll and 15% and 17V 2 gns. for 2 prize-takine cows, the line averaging £9 9s. Practicably everything was som, prices being as follows. At Toko on. Monday, Bth inst.. mixed weaners made £1 10s; 20 L month ]ieifers, to £5 3s; store cows, £3 14s to £4 Is; to £5 3s; store cowb, £3 14s to 4 Is; aged cows, £1 10s Gd; fat ewes, IBs 9d. On Tuesday, 9th inst., at Stratford, for my fortnightly sale, I had a gooa entry «f s'heep and a fair yarding" of cattle. There was a good attendance 'of buy-. cr.s, who made good competition far 0:11 cattle offered, practically all of Whirih were cleaned at satisfactory prices. The majority of the sheep were Sold at tilie hammer, all that were passed being taken up quickly by private treaty. On Thursday, 11th ins„., at the Robson road, Stratford, for Mr. M. Howard's clearing sale, I had a good attendance. The he-ru o. cows were a very fair line, containing some nice milkers', but a good number were calving a little late for present buyers, these reducing the average somewihiat, but nevertheless I was able to make the satisfactory price of £8 16s 6d for the line of 46 Best young cows soid at from £lO to £ls; fair stuff, £0 15s to £8 10s; late calvers and three-quarter cows, £S to £7 15s; store cows, £3 17s Gd to £4; breeding sows, £4 to £6 15s; store pigs, £1 Is 6d; cart, 13a. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. liave received the following cablegram from their London house under date, 10th inst, 1914: Wheat.—We have sold an Australian cargo at 37s 4y 2 d c.ii. The market quiet hut steadv, and owing to favorable crop reports from America, not likely to improve at present. Oats. —We quote, Carton's, 21s; Sparrowbill's, 20s fid. The market is steady but the outlook is uncertain. Tallow. —We quote present spot values for the following descriptions: good mutton, 33s per cwt.; good 'oecf, 33s 3d per cwt.; mixed, 31s 3d per cwt.
