By Cable —Press Association —Copyright The'steamer .New York lias "wirelessed" that the iJamlmrg-Amencan liner Pretoria collided with the New York in a dense fog. The New York was undamaged, owing to the blow glaucing off. It is not believed that the Pretoria is damaged seriously. A later message states that the Pretoria ripped a huge hole in the New York's port side, the Pretoria's anchor remaining fast in tile hole.
As the New was not shipping I water, she was able to proceed. No panic occurred, but immediately after tlie crash the passengers of both steamers dashed to the decks in their nightclothes.
The New York is a steamer of 10,798 tons, and the Pretoria's tonnage is 18,234, thei r speeds being 19 knots and 12% knots, respectively.
