SIR JOSEPH WARD AT WHAXGAREI. By Telegraph—Press Association. Whangarei, Tuesday. Sir Joseph Ward addressed a big audience at tlift Town Hall to-nig'lit. The proceedings were of an enthusiastic nature throughout. Sir Joseph Ward did not break new ground, Ins speech being on the lines of others recently given by 'him. At the conclusion Sir Joseph Ward was tendered a vote of thanks and confidence. MR. RUSSELL AT GORE. Gore, Tuesday. Mr. Russell, M.P., delivered a politi-" cal address in the Princess Theatre last «vening to a large audience. He trenchantly criticised the Government's finance, navy, taxation and other proposals, on similar lines to speeches elsewhere. The speaker was accorded a vote of thanks, with some dissent, and confidence was expressed in Sir Joseph Ward as leader of the. party.
