Mr. Borden promised consideration of the Bill, but pointed out that as the end of tho session was near it was unlikely facilities could bo given for its passage. THE HINDUS' DIET. In the House of Commons the Minister stated that the Hindus had been offered large supplies of flour, bread, rice and fruit, but refused them unless they were also given line'n, ginger, milk, purified butter, fifty live sheep and goats, a hundred fowls, and two hundred boxes of cigarettes. It provides for - a free passage to those willing to forego their residence in South Africa. The Natal members demanded that a referendum be taken before the Bill i§ proceeded with, The Laborites urged compensation. Mr. Botha said the Government would do its utmost to get Natal out of the mire, and would go a long way to obtain [ repatriation.
