By Cable—Press Association—Copyright j i Ottawa, June 7. j Mr; Stevens, a hicmber of the British Columbia House, has given notice of an amendment to the Immigration Act. providing' for the exclusion from the Do-( j million of all natives or naturalised citizens or immigrants coming from any Asiatic country south of the fiftieth parallel. The amendment exempts any country which has an agreement with Canada for the admission of its citizens. The. amendment means the total exclusion of Malays, Chinese, Hindus, Persians and .Turks. The Government of Japan has an agreement with Canada, providing for the admission of a certain number of Japanese yearly.
