(Note.—Quotations, (unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot): Mutton.—The market is steady, and prices well maintained. There has been more inclination to purchase mutton during the past week. Canterbury, 4%d for light-weight; better demand for heavy-weight at 3%d, North Island 4 3-10 d for light-weight. Lamb. —The market is very firm, with better demand for heavy-weights, on account of the high prices of English mutton. Canterbury lamb o%d, heavyweight other than Canterbury 614 for light-weight.

lieof. —The market is quiet, with 110 alteration in prices. New Zealand hinds 4'/ 3 (l per lb, fores .'i'/.il; chilled beef, in moderate supply, hinds 4y a d, fores 3%d.

Butter.—The market is steady. Danish, quiet, per ewt.- 113s to 115s, exceptionally choice 110s; New Zealand, firmer, 107s to lflSs, exceptionally choice 110s; Australian, -IOOs to 104s; (Siberian, it moderate supply, 98s to 102s; Irish creamery, slow, 105s to 108s. Cheese.—The market is firm, with an upward tendency. The Canadian stock is almost exhausted, and is selling at OSs to 70s per cwt. The New Zealand market is ■ firmer, with fair demand; white 50s (id to 00s Oil, colored OSs to 04 s; Australian, white 57s to sf)s, colored CrOs to 02s; English cheddar, new make, <?2s to OSs; English cheddar loaf, new make, OSs to 725; Cheshire, now make, 60s to 05s. Hemp—Tho market is rather unsettled on account of the Mexican position. New Zealand good-fair, per ton, £26 10s, fair £23 10s; June to August; sipments, good-fair £2O 15s, fair £23 los (prices nominal). .Manila, fair current, £2O 10s, June to August shipments £2G 15s (prices nominal). ■ The output from Manila for the week was 29,000 bales.

Wheat.—The market is steady, but the demand is only moderate. Oats—The market is firnier; and the demand is becoming better as . stock is being reduced.
