Japanese diplomacy in China is being remodelled owing to the weakened condition of China and the great energy displayed by the Powers, who are scrambling for concessions. The Daily Telegraph's correspondent says that though Count Okumn's suggestion that England and Japan should commercially ally themselves throughout China undoubtedly has certain unpractical features the hour has sounded when the scope of the Far-Eastern | Alliance should be carefully investigated by the contracting parties and all- possibilities of the doubtful future considered.
