COURSING.
TARANAKI PT.UMI'TOX CLUB. The Taranaki Plimpton Coursing Club, who had extremcty ,bad luck at their recent coursing meeting owing to the hares proving diseased, hiuve made complete arrangements for the second meeting, which it ia proposed to hold at New Plymouth on July 1 and 2. A fine progiamme has been arranged, including the finishing of the Joc-al maidlen stakes, a supplementary stake, and 1 an. open maiden stake, of i.'ia, the first dog to receive £2O and -a silver cup valued at £7 7s, the second dog £lO, and two dogs £2 10s. Thirty-six dogs must compete, or staked will only be paid l pro rata. Large entries a.re expected, and in- order to avoid any possibility of shortage, 70 or 80 hares will ibe.provided.
