It is reported that the Niagara Falls Conference is nwiVing good progress with their mediation. The delegates have chosen a number of names acceptable to the United States us provisional president of Mexico. These names will probably be submitted to the Mexican Congress, leaving them the final choice. The Japanese Government denies that Japan is sending additional warships to Mexican waters. A STEAMER ARRESTED. FOR LANDING ARMS FOR MEXICO. . Received 28, 10.20 p.m. Vera Cruz, May 28. A German steamer landed arms for Mexicans. General Funston thereupon arrested the vessel as having no manifest. It is not expected that further action will be taken, as the United States have agreed to a suspension of hostilities during the Peace Conference. It is expected that the vessel will Merely be fined for being without a manifest.
