The Puniho backs more than he-'di their own with the Cape Maoris, who were superior in the forward*. Pihaira journeyed to Kahotu to try conclusions with tiltat team, and were defeated hy eight points to nil. Kahotu had the. best of the first spell, and were leading at h'.Uf-itime by ■» try scored by GUnbwurth, which wax"converted by Surgeoor and a penalty goal also kicked' by Sarpenor. Raliotu were very lucky • iu not having their line crossed on more t than one occasion in the second spell, ; and only the line line-kicking and deadly , tackling of the kicks saved them. Mr ; Hayes gave every satisfaction with the ! Whistle. i Before the fixtures started Puniho ' played *!«• loaal team for a tea. and and were defeated by 12 points to 0.
