THE NATIONALIST VOLUNTEERS. London, May 22. The Nationalist volunteers are steadily growing. Official Nationalists regard the movement with mixed feelings, believing that the objects of the men controlling the volunteers should be more national than Nationalists. Members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians acting, apparently, under some general order, aire beginning to join in large numbers.
MR. ASQUITH'S SILENCE. MAY PROVE CALAMITOUS. London, Hay 22. The Times, in a leader, says that Mr. Asquifcb's silence, and the further delay of a fortnight, may precipitate a catastrophe. All that is clear is that each day brings us closer to appalling dangers, and that no Prime Minister has ever trifled so long with possibilities which may shake the whole Empire to its foundations. MOKE AMMUNITION. London, May 22. Largo consignments of ammunition have been landed in Ulster during the last fortnight.
