A STONEWALL ON LABOR BILL.

In the House the stonewall against the Bill abolishing preference to unios-i-»ts in the public service, which lasted throughout last night, continues. During an adjournment for the official luncheon to the Governor-General the mace mysteriously disappeared from the table in the House. A protracted search for it was unavailing.
THE CASTING VOTE
Received. 2, midnight. Melbourne, May 22. The mace has reappeared on the table. It dropped from a place where a practical joker had 'hidden it under the Ministerial bench.
The Njbn-prefereiice Bill waa read a second time on the easting vote of the Speaker. Tile sitting continues.
