PRESERVATION OF INFANTS, By Cable—J-ress Association— Copyright London, May 20. At the Health Conference, the Hon. Charles Melvellar's p:iper on infancy and health analysed the New South Wales conditions and preventive measures to preserve child life. It also referred to itho Federal maternity benefit, which would ultimately be valuable in reducing mortality. Sir Charles commends South Australia's system of supervision of illegitimates.
Bishop Frodwham, iu intrpilucing the ■paper, paid a tribute to Sir Charles Melvellar's work, and said muck beneficial legislation was the outcome of 'his efforts.
