N.Z. LOAN' & MERCANTILE REPORT. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Stratford), report:—On Tucs-' day, the 19th hist., we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, being well filled up with odd lines of fanners' stock, and a good clearance was ] 'effected at the following rates: —Mixed weaners, 10s for inferior, 31s for fair, 349 «d to 37s Gtll for good cattle; weaner heifers, 21s fid to 22s 6d for small, 25s to 29s for medium up to 32s Od for fair quality; weaner steers, 26s 6d for mediums, up to 42s (>d for a line of good colours. Store cows were well repre- , acnted, but prices were 'hardly as good, no doubt owing to the rough weather, 50s to 57s (id for poor and small, 635, 67s 6d for medium cows!, .up to 735, forward cows 71s, 755, 79s Gd,' 80s, 83s 6d, 86s, 87s, 90s, to 955; fat cows, 115s to 128s; bulls, 90s; 20-months heifers showing colour, 86s; others 56s to 00s; 2%ycar steers, 92s to 110s; lambs cully 4s 6d, medium 10s sd; fat wethers, 19s. Since we last reported we have written' up a good lot of stock privately to an unsatisfied demand, both local and outside enquiries being numerous. Lambs, <Ss Cd, 9s (id, 10s, Us, lis 3d, 12s 3d; wethers, 13s, 16s, and 17s; fat ewes, 15s to 10s; store ewes, 10s, 10s Cd, 15s od, 16s 3d; forward wethers, up to 19s; weaner heifers, 20s, 255, 275, 32s 6d, and 355; weaner steers, 30s, 33s 6d, and 40s; weaner bulls, ,30s, 32s 6d, and 40s; store cows, 70s, 70s, and 80s; 20-montlia steers 50s, 78s, 80s, and 87s 6d; empty heifers, up to 100s for nice lines; bulls 70s to 80s.
