Crooke, S.M., to answer a charge of attempted suicide. | Detective-Sergeant Boddam, in oilt--1 lining the circumstances of the case, said that the accused was the wife, of a l very respectable, -hard-working young ' mail, and had one child. On Wednesday last she appeared to have had an altcrj cation with her husband, who was shavj ing at the time, and snatching up his j razor, made two gashes on her throat. jShe was taken to the hospital, where i sho received medical attention, her inj juries being comparatively slight. She j and her husband had become reconciled, i and he did not tlunk that the woman j would repeat her rash act, if she were j treated leniently. I Mr Crooke: What nude you do each j a foolish thing? | Accused: I had a little argument with Imy husband, and 1 did it just to j frighten him.
