A verdict of accidental death was returned at the inquest on the death, of a single, man, 80 years of age, who was killed in a goods lift on the premises of If. CI. Gibbons and Co. The coroner said the eridence showed the lift to lie in good working order. h A FATAL FIRE.. Hokitikn, Last Night. A fire occurred here this morning, when a four-roomed cottage, occupied by two old men, was destroyed. One ot the. men, .fames Ferguson, wag carried out of the building before it waa gutted, but it was found that he had succumbed. Deceased came from South Westlaml to attend the recent jubilee celebrations.
