A short time back the farmers of the surrounding districts held meetings to sec if it. were possible to form a cooperative cheese factory throughout the district. A committee was pet up to enquire as to the question of cheese versus butter. .On finding that we could not reckon upon'getting more than 13'/ : d per lb butter fat for cheese, taking late market juices, the suppliers bf the Omata Dairy Co. decided to go on with butter making for the coming season. The price paid out by the Omata Dairy Co. on butter fat has been practically Is per lb for the pa.-l season. The cheese factory commiiu.ed running on alternate days in the beginning of April, whilst the butter factory commenced on May 1. We have had an unusual visitor up our road as far as Mr Reavdou's, in the way of Mr Andrew's threshing plant. Whilst cutting chaff a piece of piping that had been left in the, chaff-cutter got in contact with the knives and caused a delay of a week. Mr W. Richardson sold hij farm recently and is now on the move to take up his residence at Tataraimaka. 1 believe we are to shortly have a new neighbour in his place. The school committee held the first of a series of weekly euchre v?rties on Friday. Htli in-,!., it'being vev'- well attended, there being ten tab"- s going. The ladies' prize was won by Miss.
