During the gala performance at Covcnt Garden Theatre in honor of the royalties, a woman in the balcony stalls thouted, "King George, women are being tortured in your dominions!" She was seized, roughly handled, and carried out shrieking. Other suffragettes showered leaflets from the gallery.
WOMAN'S WAY. London May 11. Mary Wood, the suffragette who damaged a portrait by Sargent in the Royal Academy, has been released after hunger and thirst striking.
