PBIME MIMSTIiIt" AT NAPIKR. A JIEAKTY KKCEPIION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Last -Night. The Prime Minister gave a political address „u the Municipal Theatre tonight. About 1800 persona were preftnt, and Mv. Massey received a hearty reception. He outlined the policy of the Government during the past two years especially in connection with acquiring lands for closer settlement, improvements to the Old Age Pensions Act, Workers' Dwellings Act, and Advances to Settlers Act. He also reviewed the Government's action in regard to the recent strike, and expressed the opinion that a very awkward position was then successful) v dealt with.
Dealing with financial matters,, Mr. Massey referred to the way in which the last loan was subscribed,' which indicated the splendid financial a.ipcct of the country in the opinion of outsiders. He anticipated an unusually prosperous year for the Dominion, and expressed the opinion that the Government would be returned with a large majority. At the conclusion, the Premier was «ic- ; corded a hearty vote of thanks. Mr. Percie Kelly, the ''Reform" candidate for Napier, subsequently addressed the meeting and received »n exceedingly hearty reception.
